I don't know, I did give 3 seeds from the 16.89 but I don't know what the plan is for them, they may end up in an auction,I just don't know.

OK thanks, I was just looking to help support bp.com and any of the clubs by bidding on any of your seeds you may have given out to be auctioned off here.
Cheers

Check face book post. In short the GPC has received 4 of Dan's 16.89 seeds. Dan sent 3 seeds but it appears that only one of the four seeds will be auctioned. The GPC has gifted 3 seeds to 3 different tomato growers. Thus if you want to grow the 16.89 it appears that you have only one chance to get one. That is from the GPC auction.

Those three that received free seeds should be very happy I would think! Did the GPC Auction set a record for a single seed last night? It's my understanding that Dan settled the screw up last night by donating a second seed, that's a move that should be celebrated more than what the price of the seeds sold for. Dan, that was an absolute class act on your behalf, I hope others will follow your example.

Team Wexler, it wasn't a screw-up, it was a last minute donation from Dan so that BOTH bidders could be accommodated. But yes, HUGE thanks to Dan; the auction team just wanted to be fair, and we had to have a time out to reach a decision with the addition of that seed. Both buyers have communicated back, and are happy.
For everyone's information (this was posted on Facebook earlier) the GPC initially received 4 seeds from Dan. We chose 3 community-minded top tomato growers to gift them to, who have agreed to freely give seeds after harvest so that these excellent genetics get out there for growers. Those growers who are recipients: John Young, Jay Yohe, and the Fausts. The 4th single seed was planned for our auction. It was a fast paced record-setting bidding war, and Dan added in an additional at the end, so both high bidders got a seed.
It will be very exciting to see how these growers do next year!

Just curious not a tomato grower, but how many seeds on average from one? And to the bigger ones such as this have fewer seeds perhaps? Thanks.

I grew 4 over 3 pounds and some had Alot of seeds and some didn't have many at all. Just luck of the draw I guess. They grew great in Maine.

Many thanks appreciate the feedback. I figured they would have many due to the size of their seeds. Now I can not imagine cleaning the seeds out and getting them ready? No thanks lol. And hey Dan, from one Dan to another congrats on one amazing record season! It sure is making waves and great boost to the growing community. I do remember way back 1970s, there was a "Gracie Gardens" from New Jersey I believe and they featured a WR tomato over 4 lbs. on the cover. A Gordon Graham was the grower?
